Beautiful cabin in a gorgeous location with windows that provide an excellent view all around the property. The host made sure we had everything we and our pets needed for a comfortable stay. Loved all the attention to detail that provided warmth and coziness.
What a great jeep ride up to this beautiful property and cabin with peaceful breathtaking views. The cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed during our 5 night stay during 4th of July week. Enjoyed the surrounding areas with time spent at Lake Junaluska and driving some of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The views from this home are absolutely stunning. We loved relaxing on the porch and taking in the peaceful natural surroundings all weekend. The house was exactly as described —clean, comfortable, and well-equipped—and the host was communicative and helpful throughout our stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful mountain home! The scenery is beautiful with stunning mountain views. Loved having an outdoor fireplace. The house had everything we needed. Bed very comfy. Would definitely stay here again.
Accommodations were great. Great views with plenty to explore from the patios. Close enough to Waynesville, Asheville, and even Brevard for day trips but far enough away from any sort of bustle.

Thanks for stay at the Jewel. You were a pleasure to host!
This property was absolutely the most peaceful, gorgeous place we have stayed in! It had everything possible you would need for your stay and perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway. The home was decorated beautifully! We will definitely want to take a trip back again to thos property!
Had a wonderful couple of days at The Jewel! Quiet and secluded home with breathtaking views. Loved watching the neighboring cows come to graze each day!
The Jewel In The Sky was absolutely incredible! Pictures don't do this place justice, and the host was great about getting any and all information to us. Phenomenal stay!
We loved our stay at Jewel in the Skye! The view is amazing, the house is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and huge for 2 people! It is the last house on the road, and very private.
Absolutely wonderful. Spectacular views. Gorgeous inside and out. Had everything I needed. Comfortable accommodations. Host did a great job making sure anything extra needed was available. I highly recommend! Deserves 6 stars.
We were very impressed as this is a couples themed location. Although it sits high on a hillside, and a single lane road to the house, once you arrive you dont want to leave. The view is amazing looking down thru a valley and its pretty secluded. We were there for vacation as well as looking for future residence so every time we came back, it was such a stress reliever. Definitely a place you can bring supplies and simply stay. Its off the beaten path a bit but only 15 minutes from Waynesville. We will definitely stay here again!
We spent 10 days in the cabin touring around this beautiful area. The cabin was perfect for 2 people and our pet. The listing was spot on. It’s location is just remote enough to be perfect- accessible to hiking, shopping, dining, etc without being in the middle of a town. The cabin was beautifully appointed and has everything we needed. The porch in the morning with coffee and the evening by the fireplace were special times for us to plan the day and relax after a day of outings. You will fall in love with the baby goats down the road!
Outstanding view which we enjoyed each morning. Lots of farm animals nearby - alpacas, goats and cows. House was very clean and well equipped and all of the light switches are labeled which was nice.
The only negative is the mile long shared single lane driveway. We only met another vehicle once during the week we were there, but it makes it slightly less convenient getting in and out. But for the view and location this is a small price to pay.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Jewel in the Skye. This beautiful cabin has many amenities. Perfect for pet parents with the area downstairs for the dog. Very clean cabin. Julie was the best host! When we went to make coffee our first morning (a Sunday morning at that) in the cabin, we noticed a crack in the coffee pot. We contacted Julie about this and she quickly brought us a replacement coffee maker within the hour. This cabin really is the perfect mountain getaway for two! Would definitely recommend! We plan on returning again for a future stay.
The owner was prompt and was very helpful when I had some email issues with the check-in info. She was very nice to talk to! Place has amazing scenery, great amenities, and relaxing place to stay! Just beautiful!
A lot of trail, food, itinerary ideas provided!
Plenty of thoughtful, personal touches! Great smells, soaps, dog treats, espresso machine, nice kitchen items, etc. My family could only stay one night, instead of two, because of my toddler getting sick. But, even with one night, it was a great stay! We would come again for sure! Thank you!
My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary at this beautiful place. The location and elevation are the perfect combination to offer a peaceful sanctuary to relax, reflect, and find peace in this too-busy world. There isn't much more I can say about the Jewel that others have not already said. It's just as described, the photos only offer a glimpse of the beautiful views as nothing can capture what the eyes see, and the serenity of it all is more than words can describe. Hearing nothing but the birds and a gentle breeze through the trees in the morning and just the crickets at night is all it takes to bring peace to our busy lives. Julie is a lovely host and very accommodating. Thank you for all your help during our stay! We would love to come back to enjoy this sanctuary high above the clouds. Just a note to future visitors...treat the Jewel kindly and with respect so that others can enjoy this beautiful place.
There were MANY pros to this property. We have stayed a few different places in the area. It is gorgeous and felt mostly luxurious to be in. We enjoyed our time very much and it was almost perfect!
Cons:
- The neighbor, Karen, will be monitoring your stay and reporting to the owner. If you want privacy and seclusion, this is not for you. My sister (and her partner) came for a visit from Asheville and her car was snowed in. Her car doors were frozen shut. It was unsafe and impossible for her to leave. We lost part of our deposit because she stayed the night, oh and important to mention, this happened on Christmas Day! Not upset about the money so much as it seemed distasteful on Christmas Day and was quite a damper.
-We killed about 35 wasps (aka mud-dobbers, the owner calls them) in our 6 night stay. Harmless, we were told, but gross, nonetheless.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. I’m not sure who Karen is in the neighborhood. The Jewel is on 5 acres with plenty of mountain property and hiking surrounding. I was aware that you had several extra extra quests for two nights. The Jewel is luxurious and definitely designed as a couples retreat, not set up for 4 or more people.
Our experience with this property hands down, bar none is 5 stars! The property owner, Julie, has thought of everything.
The home is impeccably clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated with nostalgia all around. The architectural beams, wood trim and accents are beautiful. The kitchen is equipped with everything that you would typically need to make a hefty meal. The king bed is superior and has the best pillows! Plenty of towels, blankets, storage, guest touches, etc. Our pups loved the pet area and we felt assured when we had to leave without them! The sunroom has great views, but we barely sat in it because the weather was perfect for us to enjoy being outside. Speaking of the views - It's absolutely stunningly beautiful - with the rolling hills, dotted with pastures and livestock, and the backdrop of the mountains - it has it ALL!! The yard is large with a slight slope and jetted with boulders which was just as beautiful and added to the incredible views. There is a smaller flat yard just behind the house and was good for the pups. We used every sitting space outside and never got sick of the views. The cows next door would make their rounds in the evening and graze. We almost never heard a man made sound, so if quiet is what you seek, it's here. The driveway was an adventure too - we loved the goats near the bottom.
I can't speak any more highly of this property. It's truly perfection at it's finest!! Thank you Julie for hosting an amazing experience for us in your home. We cannot wait to return!

Being in the area is a big part of me. I would choose no other place to live, work and play. Thus stands the reason why I am a realtor and vacation rental owner. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have: (828) 273-6607
Why they chose this property
I chose to build this property from ground up with the vacationer in mind. Having owned rentals for several years and gone through remodeling and redesigning vacation rentals, I thought it was time for vacation renters to a luxury cabin built just for them.
