Woodside Cottage - a house that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms

A charming detached home in a rural setting in Sandford near Godshill, providing spacious and comfortable accommodation. Shanklin and Ventnor are within easy reach for a family day on the beach and Woodside is near several footpaths for those who enjoy the countryside.

The large enclosed garden with lawn, shrubs and trees is a tranquil escape after a busy day. There is a patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. To the front of the property is ample off street parking for 2-3 cars.

The ground floor accommodation comprises double bedroom with travel cot, twin bedroom and family bathroom with shower over bath. The cosy lounge, dining room and conservatory all look over the garden and the well equipped kitchen has French doors leading onto the garden. There is a utility room and also a separate cloakroom WC.

The master suite on the first floor comprises double bedroom with en-suite wetroom shower and WC. Guests will enjoy lovely views from this peaceful retreat.

The popular village of Godshill is very close by and has charming thatched roofed cottages and winding main street with a variety of tea rooms, gift shops offering local craft and produce, model village and public house. Sandford is centrally situated between Newport and Shanklin and also within easy reach of Ventnor, making an ideal base to explore the surrounding Island.

For families the popular resort of Shanklin is a short drive away and provides a variety of shops, supermarket, banks and eating places. To the south of the High Street lies the picturesque thatched Old Village with its pubs, tearooms and gift shops. Near to the Old Village is Shanklin Chine, a natural wooded gorge, and Rylstone Gardens, a relaxing park with crazy golf and tea gardens in a flower filled setting.

The long safe sandy beach is on a lower level. One can walk, use the lift or drive down from town to seafront. Coastal paths make for scenic walking to neighbouring Sandown or to the pretty village of Bonchurch through the winding paths of the landslip, in the other direction.

The Island has many other attractions for families with a variety of beaches, cycleways and footpaths, leisure centres and golf courses. Entertainment and eating places are varied.

Perfect holiday home

We stayed at woodside cottage in April with my daughter and her partner and 2 children.The house is lovely and so well equipt with everything you could possibly need.The children age 6 and 4 loved the garden which had a playhouse and a slide.Perfect location for visiting the island.

Best cottage we have stayed in.

This cottage has been our holiday home for two years.It is clean, comfortable and has all the equipment you will need. A beautiful garden completes the ideal place to stay in the best part of the island.

Wonderful Woodside

Everything as always in perfect order and lovingly maintained. Not so much staying in a holiday cottage as staying in a family home. Ideally placed for visiting all parts of the island and best part is returning to enjoy the cottage and garden. Thank you for another excellent stay.

Lovely cottage with everything we would need and more

Beautiful cottage and garden, we could relax. The children liked the garden toys, and our youngest loved the tree house. It had everything we needed and more. Also had lots of space. It was close to lots of attractions, all within 10 to 20 mins!

Woodside Cottage

We have stayed at Woodside on four occasion and already booked again . The cottage is in excellent decorative order and very clean and comfortable. It is well sited with no need for a car and lots of good walking from the door. Large garden lovely to sit out in. Exceptional service from Island Holiday Homes.

Everything provided, very clean and cosy, wonderful location. Housekeepers were lovely. Looking forward to our next stay. Lovely family of rabbits at the bottom of the garden. Because the weather was quite cool the conservatory was really warm and welcoming. This is a lovely home.

We have stayed in Woodside Cottage a few times now and enjoyed each visit. When we have had any questions we have been able to contact Island Holidays who have been extremely pleasant and helpful. The housekeeping staff have been brilliant. There is a lovely spacious garden with a particulary pleasant patio area ideal on a nice sunny day. We have already booked two holidays for next year. Our thanks to the owners who have allowed us to share their home.

Wonderful Woodside

Our 7th visit and another excellent stay at this amazing property. Good bus links at the end of the road to all parts of the island. Lots of walking from the door. The cottage as always was very well presented and equipped with everything needed. Even with inclement weather a nice relaxing break in a home from home cottage. Look forward to returning.

Woodside Cottage

Our sixth visit to Woodside and as always everything well equipped and beautifully maintained.Spotlessly cleaned and prepared by Lisa. The cottage is in a very good position with bus links to all parts of the island 2 minutes walk away. There is everything you need to make this a perfect home from home. Amazing cottage !!

We have been going to Woodside cottage for the past 5 years, and we love it there, it has everything you need. You dont have any worries when staying here you can get to everywhere you need to go daily perfect cottage in the perfect location. Unfortunately we have a couple of pups now, and due to a very bad experience with one of the kennels on the island we wont be able to come again unless we find a top class kennel to look after them. Our Inlaws will be back though you can count on them !!

A Delightful Stay

Property was extremely well presented and clean, felt very homely in every respect. Kitchen was well appointed with plenty of pots, pans and utensils. Large garden was especially nice for our two young boys (although we spent most days exploring the island). Only slight negatives, one sofa was extremely uncomfortable (sofa bed) and the location is approx. 1 mile outside of Godshill with no pathway on the main road to the village so had to use the car always. Overall a fantastic place to stay, great value and would return again in the future.

Following another recent negative comment about the lounge sofas we are planning to replace both of them before the season begins again next year. Regarding the walk into Godshill, there is a footpath to the village which takes about 25 minutes via lovely pathways crossing the fields (you have to cross the main road once). We had left a map pinned up on the noticeboard which gave the directions, so will get more printed for next season, too. We do hope to welcome you back sometime soon!

Another wonderful holiday at Woodside cottage

This was our third visit to Woodside cottage and it did not disappoint. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and clean and the garden is a lovely place to spend time when returning from a day out, it has lots of added extras to keep the children amused. This property is very well situated for reaching everywhere on the island easily. Would highly recommend it and will return if we can, next time we visit the Isle of Wight.

Great family location.

Woodside cottage is a great place to go and visit,great location but also nice and quiet as well.The garden is perfect for kids who are never tired(lol).Close to major attractions and never to far away for a visit.Very comfortable and nicely set out.Owner is a very nice man also. Gary

A delightful 3 bedroom property

When we saw this property whilst looking through the website it was ideal for what we needed and it looked lovely, on arriving at the property it was even better in the flesh just superb. The cottage is in a lovely position very quiet, there's a pretty village just down the road 5 mins by car with some lovely coffee shops ,pub etc. The bedroom upstairs was just fabulous very nice and loved the bathroom too. We found Woodside Cottage very spacious, very comfortable and with all the amenities you have here including the lovely garden which the grandchildren loved its all you need for a wonderful and delightful stay.
