We really enjoyed our stay at this delightful cottage.
We really enjoyed our stay at this delightful cottage. It has real character and is ideal for anyone just wanting to get away from it all and find some peace in a tranquil and picturesque location. There are some greats walks around the area and it is not far from the lake (Ullswater). We very much hope to return.

The Bothy is an excellent property for a weeks stay.
The Bothy is an excellent property for a weeks stay. The lounge dinning room is very spacious and the bedrooms downstairs are a bit of a novelty (we did not use the attic room.)
The garden room is very bright and airy but the radiator is a little too small to heat sufficently in the winter, but when the log fire is lit it is very warm and pleasant.
The parking is a bit tight and reversing down the drive takes a bit of getting used to as there is insufficient space to turn round ourtside the cottage unless your car is quite small.
The kitchen is well equipped and there is a large gas stove which is good to cook on once you get used to the controls.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a fantastic week at the old Bothy.
We had a fantastic week at the old Bothy... and were extremely lucky with the weather which was a bonus. It was always good to soak off our walks in the big deep bath with plenty of hot water. The kids loved the attic bedroom and the adults loved sitting by the fire at the end of the day.

Lovely cottage with a great view.
Lovely cottage with a great view. Inclusion of firewood for the fireplace was appreciated for cold nights. Good spot for exploring the Ullswater area. The host was very helpful recommending walks in the area. Spiral staircase between the bedrooms on the lower level and the main floor was a bit steep and tight for us oldies, but we managed.
