KI Rural Retreat is a large 4 bedroom home which comfortably sleeps 10. It is surrounded by garden, native bushland and open spaces with 2 queen sized bedrooms, one with ensuite, bathroom with bath/shower, kids area, large living area with TV/DVD, fully self contained kitchen and outdoor entertaining area with BBQ. Abundant birdlife, great views on farm walks across land to sea. Enjoy the native vegetation areas & the historical farm machinery site. Only a 15 minute drive to main township of Kingscote for all your holiday shopping needs including arts and craft. Adjacent to the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery & 6 km to Clifford's Honey Farm where delicious honey icecream awaits. On main road to popular Seal Bay, Vivonne Bay, Caves & Flinders Chase. Linen available on request. No dogs due to sheep.

Kangaroo Island Rural Retreat was perfect for our 6 day stay on Kangaroo Island. It is private/isolated and very peaceful, no near neighbours, BUT within easy driving distance (15 mins) of Kingscote. It is also very well-equipped, spacious, and comfortable. We wanted to explore all corners of Kangaroo Island and KI Rural Retreat is the perfect location - very central for travel to Cape Borda, Cape Willoughby, Dudley Peninsula, etc. Emma, our host, was extremely helpful and friendly... nothing too much trouble.If you're looking for privacy, comfort, a central location, then I highly recommend KI Rural Retreat.

Wonderful property for a relaxed cozy country stay. Plenty of space for the whole family with everything you need. Even in the middle of winter, it’s cozy and warm with the gas and wood fires. Beautiful views over the countryside. A wonderful home away from home.

Slice of rural heaven

We loved the property, reminded my brother and I of our farm growing up in South Africa. The house is really well equipped and well located. Would definitely return there and recommend to others to stay.Koalas in the trees along the drive were fabulous as was the birdie. Thank you again.

This house is very well sized for larger groups, with ample space and great amenities. The farm is beautiful, there are lots of native flowers along the roadside leading to the house. The views are also excellent. The location is almost central to the island, and for the purposes of our visit, was located very close to our work. We hope to be able to stay again

Fabulous 4 night stay in KI

Fantastic quiet place to come back to after a busy day in KI. Amazing hosts, communication was excellent and the house had lots of comforts provided, including a pod machine. Loved sitting outdoors in the morning, spotting the superb fairy wrens as I drank my coffee. Can’t wait to come back again and bring friends!

Peaceful, private and spacious

One of the best places we've stayed in when it comes to peace and quiet. There's lots of room inside, as well as outside in the property grounds to go for big walks. It was super comfortable; all amenities we needed were provided, and it was a pleasure dealing with the owner who was always quick to respond. Location is great - not far from Kingscote and the airport. It truly felt like home for us the 2 weeks we stayed. We were very well-rested after our stay and didn't want to leave - we'll DEFINITELY be returning again and again! Thanks again Emma - terrific place :-)

KI Visit

Good central location with a very definite farmhouse atmosphere. Beds comfortable. TV great. Fridge excellent. Good to have dishwasher. Ensuite shower a bit slippery, needs mat. Need to watch for ants. Being a farmhouse cleanliness is not as easy to manage. Overall very happy with our stay.
