About this property
The Timber and Stone Retreat
Nestled in a quiet little pocket in the quaint township of Malmsbury sits this unique accommodation. It offers a 2 bedroom escape with lovely open plan kitchen and living area, luxurious bathroom, with French doors that open out to a lovely Alfresco dining area. The landscaped gardens and trees also create an additional aspect. The Wood fireplace creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere in the cooler months, making it a perfect place to just relax and unwind. Summer time offers a cool air-conditioned space to escape the heat.
Comfortable Queen size bed in the main bedroom and a double/single bunk in the second bedroom allows it to sleep up to 4 adults, with the option of a 5th being a child for the top bunk.
About the home
The house is constructed using lovely old salvaged timber trusses, together with unique arched windows, of which were imported from Italy and salvaged from an old Villa.
Travertine stone covers the main living area and bathroom floors, with high quality wool carpet in the bedrooms. It boasts a very rustic charm with all contemporary conveniences. The home is a blend of old and new with a soft palette creating a relaxed and cosy atmosphere.
Outside, we have used local Castlemaine stone on the pillars and water ponds, and the garden is established and passionately maintained. It sits amongst a private 10acre property, offering privacy and serenity.
The north facing Alfresco area can be enjoyed day or night. Read a book on one of the many little garden benches tucked away in various pockets of the garden.
Features
The kitchen/living area features large open space with great wood fire, large farmhouse style dining table and comfy leather sofa and lounge chairs in front of the fire.
Lots of natural light fills the rooms, with all windows looking out to picturesque garden views. It also features a lovely little reading corner to unwind with a good book.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with large double freestanding cooker, which may entice a keen chef to cook up a country cooked meal made with produce bought from one of the locally held farmers markets. Nespresso coffee machine, farmhouse style sink and concrete benches and microwave are all features of the kitchen.
The Main bedroom offers a comfortable queen size bed with lovely linen bedding. High Quality sheets, pillows and quilts are all supplied. Electric blankets are also on the beds if required. The second bedroom offers the same quality linen and pillows with a double bed and a single bed bunk arrangement in that room.
The bathroom is a luxury escape featuring a deep modern freestanding bath. Travertine stone in the shower and a lovely brick feature wall all add to the charm. Quality bathroom products are all at your disposal to enhance the relaxing atmosphere. Underfloor heating in the bathroom complete the picture.
Only 10 minutes walk to the township of Malmsbury, you can experience the local living and fresh country air. With a short 10 minute drive you can be in Kyneton,
15mins to Castlemaine and only 20 minutes drive and you’ll be in the famous township of Daylesford, just to mention a few.
