Spend a few days exploring KANGAROO ISLAND . Relax in the evenings at HILLTOP LODGE .
Hilltop Lodge is the perfect place to stay while exploring the Island .
A wonderful place to connect with nature and friends . Rediscover life in the slow lane .
Enjoy the time to bond with each other at this home away from home .
Located just 15 minutes from Kingscote town centre , 10 minutes from Kingscote Airport, 45 minutes from The Ferry at Penneshaw. Getting there is simple and we are easy to find .
It is central to all tourist attractions.
The Honey Farm , Eucalyptus Distillery , Emu Bay Lavender Farm , Little Sahara and Raptor Domain are a few examples of places close by.
Other major attractions are a comfortable day trip away.
Pet friendly. ( secure dog run )
Child friendly . ( secure front lawn for young children ,
plus a children’s swing set along the driveway)
Easy access for those with limited mobility . ( small bathroom has hand rails )
Minimum stay 4 nights . It is expected that the first two guests will share a room , thereafter separate rooms can be made available.
Guests say a minimum of four nights allows three full days to explore the island .
The Lodge is situated amongst 20 acres of native bushland, surrounded by nice gardens and an orchard with views over the rolling hills and farmland towards Kingscote and Nepean Bay .

No light pollution means spectacular sky views .
Visitors love the tranquility and night sky .

The Lodge features a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove , a large fridge freezer and a dining area.
The adjacent lounge has a reverse cycle Kelvinator which provides heating or cooling .
It also has a wood burner for winter warmth.
Firewood is supplied , from May to September .
There is a large tv and a selection of DVDs in the lounge area .
A selection of books, magazines, cards and board games are available for you to enjoy, plus a Bingo Tombola .
With no internet , it is time to switch off devices and engage with each other .
Excellent mobile phone cover and tv reception .
There is a new BBQ under an all weather covered area . BBQ summer or winter .
The laundry contains a dishwasher and top loader washing machine. There are also facilities for hand washing .
There are a number of paths on the property .Follow the power line behind the house , up to the small dam or walk around the large dam , below the house .
All linen , hand and bath towels are provided for you , with complementary toiletries .
Dogs welcome .
However, there are expectation that owners take full responsibility for their dogs behaviour .
A large , secure dog run with insulated kennel and a shade sail , has been completed. A small escallonia hedge ( non toxic ) gives some shade on the western side and some young fruit trees on the northern side are starting to provide shade during the summer months .
This has been much appreciated by families with dogs .
Your pet will be safe and secure when you are out .
It can easily accommodate up to three dogs.
A secure front lawn provides a safe environment to socialise with your dog.
Please do not leave your pet alone in the house . Please be aware that there are native animals on the property .
Complementary tea, coffee and biscuits on your arrival.
Guests provide their own meals. This is a self catering property .

Bedroom 1: 1 king size bed & 1 single bed with original ensuite bathroom containing a bath, toilet, vanity, shower and ceiling heater .
This can be arranged as 3 single beds . ( Bathroom 1 ensuite. )
Bedroom 2: 1 king size bed & 1 single with new ensuite, toilet, vanity , shower and dressing area.
This can be arranged as 3 single beds . ( Bathroom 2 ensuite . )
Bedroom 3: 2 single beds which can be arranged as a king bed , with separate toilet ,vanity and shower.
Bedroom 4: 1 queen size bed with separate toilet,vanity and shower.
Bedrooms 3 & 4 share the third bathroom . This bathroom has a ceiling heater and also has shower and toilet hand rails to facilitate those who need support. ( Bathroom 3 , separate , not ensuite . )
A fourth toilet is situated off the laundry . ( Powder room. )
All bedrooms have ceiling fans , plus the hilltop location creates a cooling air stream.
Perfect for groups, extended families or simply a peaceful, quiet escape for a couple.
Please take time to decide where the members of your group wish to sleep as we
need to know what laundry is required.
If the booking states two , it is expected that the couple are willing to share the master bedroom .
If two people require separate beds , please inform us. Single beds only are provided for single travellers .
The entire house is cleaned after each group , regardless of how many bedrooms or bathrooms are used .
One , two or three night bookings will not be considered . A minimum of four nights stay , our guest always say they wish they could stay longer .
There is no internet . Excellent TV reception and mobile phone cover.
