Kevin, thank you for your kind words and I hope you come again, Melanie
The cottage was perfect and exactlty what we expected. Communication with the host was great. Waking up to the horses every morning was the best! We will definitely be returning.
We had a fantastic stay at this cozy, clean, and welcoming cabin in rural coastal Maine. It's in a peaceful, private setting surrounded by beautiful nature, with incredible starry nights and horses nearby. The location is perfect for exploring charming local towns, swimming in nearby lakes, picking blueberries, and visiting Acadia National Park. The host was very responsive and friendly. It’s a place we definitely want to come back to!
The hostess was wonderful and easy to work with. Found the atmospheric and cottage to be extremely comfortable and relaxing. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone who doesnt want to stay in crazy Bar Harbor.

Our host was very welcoming and accommodating, even with our late check in. She was able to answer our questions and point us to many activities in the area.
The cottage is a wonderful, peaceful place that has everything you need. We loved our stay here and we are a family of 4 adults now.
We loved everything about this rental. It is private, immaculately clean, and horses! It was so quiet and relaxing to watch the sunrise with coffee out on the deck and horses grazing in the paddocks.
This home is perfectly situated to be close to Bar Harbor, Acadia Park, Schoodic Point (even better) and yet distant from crowds and heavy traffic.
Driving past the Wyman Blueberry fields was amazing!
The host was so helpful and we were so grateful for the Schoodic Point recommendation!

Cozy cottage
This was our first VRBO rental, was very nervous but as soon as we pulled up and opened the door we were amazed! The cottage was just as the pictures showed, very well maintained cozy , clean and everything there that made our stay so much easier and just like the comforts of home but without the hustle and bustle! The Host was available via text within reasonable time for all our questions .Enjoyed breakfast , drinking coffee while watching the horses being brought out of the stable every morning! Excellent stay not too close to Bar Harbor but many areas of Acadia to explore around. Well worth staying if we ever make it up to this area again we will definitely check out availability here!
We visited the Bar Harbor area for our 25th wedding anniversary and decided to visit again for our 50th.
We arrived at the cottage to find a gift left my Melanie - a bottle of champaign and a greeting card! Melanie was very helpful during our stay. She answered all our questions and did not push herself on us.
The cabin met our needs. It had everything we needed - bathroom with step-in shower, kitchen, bedroom, laundry, comfortable chairs, AC, TV, everything on one floor, wheelchair ramp. It was a quiet location. We were impacted by hurricane LEE at the end of our stay (Saturday). Melanie offered to let us stay an extra night at no charge so we would not have to travel when Lee hit the coast!

Great location and great place to stay.
Great location to take side trips. Host had ideas of what to see in a book which we did a lot of her recommendations and am so happy we did. House is cute, clean, comfortable and has beautiful scenery. She had firewood ready for us to sit by the fire pit. Enjoyed seeing the horses in the mornings and the geese were fun to watch.
Host communicated well and made sure we felt welcomed.
This little cottage is adorable, clean and has spectacular views! The stars at night are unbelievable. Melanie is a kind soul and the greatest host, she also has a lot of knowledge about the area and suggestions on where to go. The cottage is stocked with everything you need., and the bed is comfortable. We saw eagles and there is also a deer that frequents the property. Binoculars are a must because the eagles sit in the top of a tree in the woods behind the field that you look out to from the front porch. You will not be disappointed!

Great Place to Bring Your Horse
We had a lovely time. The host was very accommodating, we basically had the run of the place - plenty of stalls and available in-door if it was raining. Our horses were very happy to be out on grass. The cottage was very comfortable and nicely decorated to make you feel at home. Watch the deer from the front porch. Plenty of places to ride - especially on the blueberry barrens. I would highly recommend any one that is looking for a place to bring your horses on overnights - this is the perfect place. We do not have many places that accept horses.
I chose this place as an anniversary weekend getaway. My wife and I grew up with and owned horses and we really enjoyed this secluded cottage on the horse farm. Melanie was great and we enjoyed being able to spend time with the horses in the barn and out to pasture. The view of the large field and woods was spectacular. We will definitely be back to visit this nice spot in the future.
You can tell Melanie has put love and joy into her cottage. She was extremely helpful in having suggestions for places to go and see that are less touristy. We had a fantastic time here. Just the R&R we needed! Would recommend 100% :) thank you Melanie!!
Our stay was amazing. We wish we had stayed here the entire trip. We are already making plans for next year and staying here for an entire week. Beautiful, peaceful, inviting and comfortable. Great host, top notch.
Nice cabin, clean and well equipped (from kitchen utensils to washing machine/dryer and books about the region) with a wonderful view over the fields with wildlife (bald eagles included). Great location (close to the ocean, swimming lakes and hiking) and especially for horseback riding! Melanie is a wonderful riding instructor, for children and adults, for beginners and advanced riders!

Beautiful Grounds, Wonderful Host
Melanie's place was the perfect spot, featuring horses on a lovely property and super cozy and clean cottage.
Better than advertised. Nicely stocked with the basics (dry and paper goods). Very comfortable and spacious for two adults - if you have children there’s a trundle bed in the living room. Plenty of bedding and towels.
The view across the back pasture was beautiful. We were gone during the day so missed the horses but enjoyed watching hundreds of Canadian geese in the morning plus two adult eagles and a fledgling!
Fire pit in the back yard but be prepared for biting insects. Bug dope is a must if you’re spending any amount of time outside.
I would certainly recommend this property to anyone spending time in the Cherryfield area!

Absolutely amazing
Would definitely recommend to anyone! Beautiful place and a wonderful host. It really feels like a home away from home. It is clean, accessible, close to everything you need, super cozy, and is just filled with love.
Perfect for families with children, couples, or just anyone who loves nature and is looking for a true Maine experience and wants to relax and get away from the crowds.
Great location for the day trips to Bar Harbor, Acadia and all the touristy places, and a perfect setting for just sitting on the porch and enjoying the scenery/stars/campfire. Beautiful views of the pasture and horseback riding lessons on-site with the most welcoming host ever. We are hoping to come again next year!
