We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is cozy and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and it has a nice yard. The view is long range peaks and includes a view of a working quarry way off across the river that was interesting to watch. The house is convenient to Marshall which is still rebuilding and not that far from Weaverville and Asheville. We recommend this place for a nice quiet vacation.
The cabin is very nice and clean. The view from deck was great. The owners were good and took care of a minor issue but the management company never responded, so was glad owner had contacted us. I would recommend it.

Unpleasant Stay at Marshall Mountain Retreat Due to Brown Marmorated Stink Bug Infestation
Our experience at Marshall Mountain Retreat was far from pleasant due to an infestation of brown marmorated stink bugs. They were everywhere, falling from the ceiling onto us while sitting on the couch, waking up on our bed and bodies in the morning, and swarming above us at the dining room table. The pervasive presence of these bugs made our stay unhygienic and uncomfortable.

Hi Andrea, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
- Thank you for providing your feedback about your stay at Marshall Mountain Retreat. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during your stay.
- Unfortunately, these stink bugs are common in North Carolina, especially in rural and mountainous areas, and they can sometimes find their way into homes despite our best efforts. However, we expect our guests to have a pest-free experience, and we actively work to maintain this standard.
- We contract with a local pest control service that uses pet- and child-friendly methods to protect our property. Typically, treatments for brown marmorated stink bugs aren't done in January/February due to the cold weather making them inactive. Following your feedback, we've asked our pest control service to provide a proactive treatment for stink bugs.
- Additionally, we are creating a handbook for our cabin that highlights common pests and how to combat them. We provide ant bait, ant spray, and bug spray for our guests to use if needed.
- Upon cleaning the property in February, we did not find any indications of a stink bug infestation, nor have we received any bug-related complaints since your stay. We always reach out to guests before their check-in day with a warm welcome and property details, including our contact information. For future visits, we encourage guests to contact us immediately if any issues arise so we can address them promptly.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to provide you with a better experience in the future.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Total relaxation
Everything was set up for us ahead of time. We had our code to get in the door, it was a nice touch they had our name and welcome on the sign in the kitchen.
Anything that I asked about the communication was instant. Everything was as outlined and just an incredible place to stay.
The views are incredible it's right inside of a vineyard We took the neighbors up on their offer to tour the farm in the vineyard.
It's hard for us to find places we can are fur babies, this was perfect they loved hanging out on the porch and the nearby trails. The views and the animals kept them mesmerized.
We have already planned to go back. Very conveniently located to the Biltmore and other things that we went to see.
Thank you for such a smooth rental experience.

The cabin is on top of a null with a nice view!! The wrap around porch was lovely to sit out on in the evenings and watch firefly's. The indoors was very clean and spacious for myself, my husband, our 1yr old son, my in laws and our dogs. Great location and easy to get to Ashville, Marshall, Mars Hill and Weaverville. Easy check in and check out process. Would stay again if we are back in the area. Thank you to the hosts!
