We had a great time at Robin's Nest! Beautiful location right on the water, clean house, and communication with the host was very easy when we had questions. We will definitely be back!
We loved this place so much we had to come back for another year, this time with our dog! We all had SUCH an amazing time! Loons all over the lake, duck visitors, and some nice fishing off of the dock! The dive rock is the best place to swim with SUCH beautiful sunset views over the pine trees! We want to make the Robins Nest our yearly vacation, it’s just too glorious
Great place to Enjoy the many pleasures of Down East Main, on a freshwater, warm enough to swim, pond. The house is very comfortable for a couple or small family. We enjoyed hiking some hidden treasures in the are, but also got in visits to Schoodic Peninsula and Acadia. Josh, the host is very kind and quick to respond to help solve problems (We lost power for 24 hours due to a sudden storm).
Location was excellent for two reasons: first, adjacent to a quiet and peaceful pond and second, relatively close to Down East sites. While we did not take advantage of multiple watercraft on the property, we were quite content to spend time on the dock in its little cove as loons passed by. Our one trip to Bar Harbor was a highlight as well as cruising the many small and picturesque shoreline villages. Lastly, the hiking was very good, particularly Schoodic Mountain and Tunk Mountain. Our elder Labradoodle was quite content with her surroundings.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Robins Nest! The location is excellent on a quiet cove with tons of privacy. All the kayaks and the paddle boat were a great touch.
Loved our stay at this amazing property. The lake was crystal clear and the use of the kayaks left by the owners was great really enjoyed them. We will definitely be returning.
We enjoyed being on the water every day and that there were so many great water toys provided. The atmosphere was inviting and calming. Owner was easy to contact and check in was flawless.
Cozy cabin with all the necessities for a week’s stay. We loved the access to the pond and kayaks. Fishing on the pond was great! We also enjoyed the neighbors’ fireworks at night over the holiday weekend.
Our third stay here. We just love it. The pond is so peaceful and we used the kayaks every day. The house is just what we need for four humans and one dog. Kids enjoyed the playset. We saw loons every day. Looking forward to returning.
The Robin's Nest was absolutely fabulous! It was a perfect location to explore Down East Maine. The house on the lake allowed us to kayak during both day and sunset. The house itself had everything you could need to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable stay in Maine. We have visited the Acadia area for 30+ years and this vacation may be the best one we've ever had in the area!
We stayed for a week last summer and loved it so much we came back. Starting and ending each day on Georges Pond gave us the relaxing vacation we all hoped for. Hearing the loons, canoeing & kayaking was exactly what we wanted. House is dog friendly and that’s what we need. We love that they even provided dog towels. Josh & Dawn were very responsive and helpful. We hope to be back next summer as well.
We loved our stay at the Robin’s Nest. It was clean, had everything we needed during our stay, and was peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the rocking chairs everyday and hearing the loons at night. Our dog loved chasing his ball in the yard and decided he liked water and wading in the pond. Josh was so prompt to reply to any questions I had, which was really helpful and appreciated. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to come back again!
When I was looking at places to rent for our summer vacation, I wanted a Maine lake cottage with loons and that exactly what we got at Robin’s Nest! The morning coffee on the dock is already greatly missed. It was tucked in the woods but close enough to Ellsworth to get needed items. Having towels, dog towels and some basic items provided was very helpful. We hope to be back next summer!
The Robins nest was wonderful! Caught a few bass from dock. Heard loons at night. Loved the cabin decore! Kayaks available for use. There is a shed time keep your fishing equipment and floats. Easy parking. 40 min drive to Acadia. Very peaceful.
This cottage had everything for an enjoyable vacation. It was clean, comfortable and well stocked. There are kayaks, a canoe and a paddle boat and we spent several days swimming in the pond. Location is excellent, close to Ellsworth and Bar Harbor for shopping, dining and sightseeing. One tip - if you go to Bar Harbor, go early in the morning to get a parking space. Spaces become scarce later in the day. Don’t miss the popovers at Jordan Pond House in Acadia National Park!
This cottage is an amazing gem. Having dog toys was a plus for my little corgi to run around the yard. We took advantage of the kayaks, taking them out nearly everyday and on a clear night you can see the stars and milky way! It was an amazing surprise, we saw a few shooting stars. Communication with Josh was clear and most everything we needed was provided in the house (toilet paper, bug spray, dog towels, blankets). In unit washer dryer is an amazing plus. We loved playing games from the shelf and watching VHS tapes for nostalgia. The deck provides serene views of the pond and the road to get to the cottage is well paved.
This cabin is on a beautiful property. 2 acres of private land with quiet neighbors. We loved the little cove. The cabin was comfortable. There is a paddleboat and many kayaks. Also wonderful. What I had trouble with was the photos on the listing. They are quite old. The lawn furniture has suffered some wear and tear. The view from the porch is almost totally covered by tree growth. The photo attached gives you an idea. It feels cozy, but if you're looking for a clear lake view. This is not it.

Heaven on earth
We just returned from two magical weeks at Robin's Nest and miss it already. The cottage is clean and comfortable. It's not big but has everything we needed - comfortable beds, laundry, well equipped kitchen, big deck. But the real attraction here is the lake -- crystal clear, sand/gravel bottom, perfect for swimming, kayaking, floating on tubes. We even brought our sunfish sailboat and had some great sails. Many lake properties sit high up on a hill with long stairs or steep hills to get to the water. This house is nearly level with the lake with just a gentle slope; easy to enjoy for all ages and physical abilities and priceless views from the deck, the dock and the yard. We spent half our days enjoying the lake and half at Acadia/bar harbor, about 45 minutes away. Great family memories! We can't wait to return.
