About this property
Driftwood Cottage-on the shore overlooking BassHbr

Or, rise early and sip coffee as the sun comes up. You'll love the peace and quiet of this property. The view from the back deck in the morning is beautiful! We loved our drive through the small towns with the fishing boats and sail boats. It was so nice to stay in a quiet area away from the heavy tourist area and yet close enough to drive to those areas exploring the lighthouses and communities.
Classic cottage with view of the harbor. Immaculately clean, well stocked kitchen. Close by to other cottages but plenty of privacy with trees and deck screen. Easy put in for my kayak (fairly light craft so might be tricky for some) but other options nearby and beautiful tidal rivers from the harbor.
Wonderful! Beautiful views, extremely quiet. It was clean and well-appointed. We were very comfortable and would absolutely stay here again as it was perfect for the two of us. Thank you!
Overall the cottage was perfect for my husband and I. The deck was great for bbq and sitting outside enjoying the view. We used 4 mosquito coils at night and it really helped. We wanted a quiet place and this was perfect. 1/2 hour drive to Acadia was very pleasant. The cottage is just as it is shown in the pics, but the shower is small and screens and sliding doors didn’t slide well . We would stay there again

Kathy, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. We ordered new screen doors and window openers in the spring but supply chain issues have held up deliveries and our supplier hasn’t received them. They will be replaced as soon as we receive them.
Highly recommend this cottage. The photos are very accurate, and I thought it was a bit larger than the photos showed. Beautiful views through the trees of the harbor, and we spent lots of time on the porch looking at the water, the birds, and boats. Loved our 2 dedicated Adirondack chairs as well, right at the water's edge. There are 2 other cottages nearby, but luckily both were quiet, and we barely heard them, and the houses are a decent distance from each other. The place is a 10-minute drive to town, and a 5-minute walk to Thurston's and a few cute stores. For a place that takes pets, it was very clean and well-tended (not all dog-friendly places are in the greatest shape.) My only criticism is the shower, which is quite small (and I'm not a large person). But certainly not a deal-breaker. We hope to come back again!
Perfect location for all of my favorite stops! Bass harbor lighthouse, seawall, wonderland trail, echo lake, sand beach, thunder hole, ocean path, otter cliffs. Thurstons, charlottes legendary lobster pound, upper deck, seafood ketch, the little shack with homemade sweets is right down the way, Hansen’s seaside lobster and ice and ice cream (delicious blueberry pie and blueberry ice cream!)
So many places and never enough time!
Pretty marsh is beautiful, peaceful and has less traffic. Kayaking not too far from pretty marsh.
Exactly as pictured. Our only complaint would be the small shower but at least we had one, right❤️
We will return❤️
Beautiful setting on the water near Acadia National Park. Cottage is very well equipped and has everything you could possibly need. Host was very responsive when we contacted her.
My friend and I booked this rental for the first two weeks of September for a first vacation in more than two years. We were celebrating a special birthday and we could not have been more pleased. We loved the property and being out in such beautiful and natural surroundings made it so relaxing. The cottage was just as it was pictured on the internet and all of the furnishings were in such good taste and not "cheap" as you would find in some other rentals. The hosts were always available, caring and felt like family. We would give them a 10 rating if the scale went up that far. Thanks Ingrid and John for a special vacation in one of our favorite places-----Acadia!
This little cabin was a perfect place to enjoy the peaceful side of Acadia National Park. The house was spotless and had everything we needed for a week at the park. And any requests that we had Ingrid immediately took care of. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Acadia in the future.
Lovely cottage with picturesque view of bass harbor
The driftwood cottage is very comfortable for two people. Very nicely decorated and everything feels fresh and new. There is lovely deck off back and path that leads to water. This part of the island is quiet and serene. I would definitely recommend the cottage.
Driftwood Cottage was thoughtfully decorated with interesting art and Maine themed pieces throughout. It was well stocked with kitchen and bath items for our 2 week stay. The expansive deck provided enchanting views of the changing tidal basin and the family of ducks that passed by frequently. Even on rainy days, the cottage was pleasant and comfortable, perfect for completing an afternoon jig saw puzzle. The three cottages are strategically designed and situated so that each cottage feels very private while providing unique views from each deck. The area is very quiet yet only a short drive to Southwest Harbor. Ingrid was a perfect host with quick responses to our questions and requests.
Our stay was very relaxing due to the quiet surroundings. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed evening walks and visiting the local restaurants which were all very good. We will certainly consider staying there again.
I had a great stay at Driftwood Cottage. The cottage was beautifully decorated, and the kitchen had everything I needed. It’s clear that a lot of thought was put into ensuring an excellent guest experience. I worked remotely during part of my stay, and the WiFi was strong both in the cottage and down at the waterfront sitting area. Bar Harbor and the main Acadia attractions are about a half hour away, but there are also some great shops, restaurants and hikes to explore closer to the cottage. Ingrid was a friendly and attentive host, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
This cottage was so pretty and the came with everything you need to be comfortable. Gorgeous water view and close to amazing hikes in Acadia. Highly recommend!
