Great relaxing private cottage with great view of the sound. We explored a lot of Acadia np with this as our home base. Very easy access to all areas. It was clean cozy comfortable! Host very easy to communicate with.
Great location near the quieter side but close to everything! Perfect for our family of 5. Would definitely come back! This was a great find for a week long stay to see everything!
The property was great itself and very conveniently located! There were some issues with the washer and dryer - it was an older model and the spin cycle on the washer didn’t quite dry out the clothes so we had to run the dryer 4 times to get everything dry. Also there was no soap or shampoo or conditioner in the showers, which would have been nice to provide. The hosts were very communicative and knowledgeable about the area though!
This is everything that is says it is! The host was very good at answering our questions regarding recommendations for restaurants and places to shop. We enjoyed the cabin after long days of hiking in Acadia. We love to come back!
Seascape was an ideal location to explore all parts of Acadia National Park, just 10 min. from Southwest Harbor and 20 min. from Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor and the park welcome center. We had spectacular views of Somes Sound and enjoyed the comfortable shared space (living, dining, kitchen, back deck with fire pit). We suggested more lighting for the bedrooms. Overall, a great experience and we would happily return.
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. From the quiet location, to the amenities, to the gorgeous view from the deck, we could not have found a better place to spend our vacation!

View great.
The view was great. The unit had a mustiness. Location was great in relation to Acadia!
Overall a very enjoyable stay. Location is perfect for all of MDI including Acadia. We even hiked Sergeant mtn across the water, easy to get to. Views are awesome from deck, nice to come home to. Just a few minor maintenance issues- fireplace needed cleaning but we worked around it, screen door stuck, downstairs bath sink didnt drain well - but that was it. Hard to say if the price we paid is competitive but we'd certainly stay here again!
Myself, my husband, and our two teenage kids had an amazing week at Seascape Cottage. It was nicely decorated, clean, and spacious. We did not want to leave.

Comfortable, quiet, convenient to everything!
My husband and I came to Maine to hike in Acadia and relax for a few days. This cottage gave us the perfect home base during our visit. We enjoyed morning coffee, dinner on the deck overlooking the sound. Kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed. Linens were comfy, as was the mattress. We were 5 minutes from Echo Lake for hiking, with easy access to the quiet harbor towns south and west on the island, yet we were 20 minutes away from bustling Bar Harbor. About 15 minutes from the entrance to Acadia National Park. Perfect for the 2 of us.

So glad to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your stay with us! Thank you for the great review! Please think of us again for your next visit.
This is a great location with beautiful views -- sitting on the porch drinking coffee watching the sun rise over Sergeant Mountain was beautiful. Kitchen and living room areas were newly updated. Only reason for 4, rather than 5 stars are the bedrooms and bathrooms, which could also use updating. Upstairs bedroom has a very steep sloped ceiling so tall people be careful. And our friends who stayed in the room said the mattress could use an upgrade. Overall, though, this is a beautiful place to stay.

So peaceful...feels remote but close to everything
Our family of four enjoyed a very restful time in this lovely home. The place was IMMACULATE and well stocked with lots of kitchen equipment, puzzles, games, and very comfy beds. No lumpy, saggy mattresses here. We had a tricky time lighting the grill (operator error!) and Randy and Erica came quickly to resolve the issue. They are close enough to assist as needed.
We loved the view from the deck. We saw about 7 or 8 deers just wandering through one morning. Lots of hiking close by as well as restaurants and ice cream! Folks in town were nice and helpful, too. Bar Harbor and the Acadia NP entrance are close enough but this home is a retreat from the usual tourist overload.

Nice Location
We were two couples and we used the two queen bed rooms for nights in September.
With one exception, the furnishings were comfortable and great looking. We did not use the kitchen, but it appeared to be adequately stocked for cooking anything. The water pressure was good and the hot water plentiful. The mattresses, linens and towels were great.
Because I don't have a smart phone, or a phone at all, we didn't know the check in time. This wasn't a problem, however, because the owner arrived right after we did and told us it was fine to check in early. Check in time is 4pm, we arrived just after noon.
One of the window screens in the downstairs queen bed room was missing, so the window couldn't be opened without letting in bugs.
There were three closets in the home, all set up for curtains over them, but no curtains were present. This left clearly visible the vacuum cleaner, an extra lamp, and the breaker box. The curtains would have made a huge difference.
The upstairs furnishings appeared to be garage sale rejects. The three painted white chairs were missing paint-some on the seat, and the others on the legs. One of the night tables had the surface marred with glass rings. The downstairs bedrooms looked great, this one looked bad.
As advertised, the walls are thin. The floors creak. This makes sex upstairs, even silent sex, impossible!
We used the heater and the ceiling fan, and both worked well. The view is just like shown in the listing-beautiful, complete with deer at sunset.
Smell? Not for us! The owner obviously cares, because when we arrived a plumber was there to investigate earlier reports of sewer smell on the deck. He found nothing, and we smelled nothing.
The location was easy to find, private and centrally located.

Thank you for your review. Homeaway sends you an email with all the necessary check in info two weeks before check in. It also offers the app to download to assist with travels who would like the info with them when traveling but no by any means necessary. No worries, as you stated, we accommodated your early check in. I am sorry you were disappointed in some of the upstairs furnishings. The garage sale rejects comment seemed rather harsh, but we will take it under advisement. As stated, new and antique furnishings. At the end of a very utilized season, some things like the screen, get broken and it is on order for replacement.
My wife and I along with my sister and brother-in-law, spent part of our 40th anniversary celebration at Seascape. We loved the layout of the cabin. Plenty of room. Quiet in the woods. Cozy. Beautiful view of lake and mountain off the deck. Good location. We appreciated our communication before with the owners. They were very helpful in preparing our stay. Thank you again Erica and Randy!
We loved the location! Southwest Harbor was just our speed and so many fabulous hikes nearby. My kiddos had a blast exploring the yard and spotting daily visits from the deer. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the view was wonderful. The updated decor was cozy, and we enjoyed the rustic vibe.
