Visited with my husband and dog - we enjoyed this stay so much! The property is peaceful and secluded, but close enough to the park to enjoy all the activity that Acadia has to offer. The views from the private dock were stunning, and the porch was a great place for naps and drinks. The apartment was well-stocked and super comfortable. This is our fourth trip up to MDI, and this has been our favorite rental so far…highly recommend!
Enjoyed our stay. Water was pretty far away and not really accessible
While this is technically water front, if being in the water had been my primary reason for coming I would have been very upset. The view shown is not from the barn or even from the Main house which is where you need to go to get to the water. The trail to the water is very very steep and a few steps are a bit “precarious” you’re certainly not making it up or down for sunrise or sunset. We did very much enjoy our stay but thought it should have been a bit more accurate in its “waterfront” description. We did a lot of hiking so when we got back sometimes we just wanted to watch a movie. You really couldn’t only due to the sound on the tv being almost in hear-able even at the highest level. The house itself was nice and comfortable and had every thing we needed. We came during a heat wave and sadly there is no air conditioning. But with the two box fans they had and opening all windows it was okay enough.
I rented the”Barn” for the month of May. Great location and beautiful property. Easy access to Acadia trails and only 20 minutes to Bar Harbor. Also was a good base for my trips into the mainland. Everybody I dealt with regarding the property, Susan, Jason and Rhonda were very friendly and helpful.
I can recommend the property and will definitely go back when I get the chance.
Fantastic spot for a couple and their small dog. We originally booked based on it being dog friendly. But to add to that, the decor is fantastic and comfortable, the spot on the island is unique and quiet and very relaxing. There are three different rental units on the property, all spaced quite far from each other (cannot see or hear anything between each rental unit). There is access to a shared dock which is wonderful for setting up beach chairs on and jumping off of (ladder attached for easy climb out of the water). This unit has everything you would need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, in addition to the cozy accommodations. Susan (the host) is very responsive to questions through the VRBO app. Definitely would recommend for 2 - 3 people!
The cottage (apartment over garage/barn) was clean, well appointed and tucked away on a quiet private property. We enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the Harbor Seals "chat" in the evening! We were very comfortable and had everything we needed, definitely recommend!
This one bedroom was perfect for two people looking for a quiet retreat.

Very secluded and relaxing
This is located on a beautiful and secluded property. We spent most of our time out on the deck, enjoying the peace and quiet. It was a short and easy drive to all points of the island, including Acadia and Bar Harbor. The private water access was a very cool spot. We would definitely stay here again!
