About this property

Quiet Cozy Cabin - close to Acadia (Schoodic Peninsula) yet away from the crowds

Our log cabin is located in a quaint coastal fishing village on the northern coast of Maine; a haven for photographers, hikers, cyclists, kayakers, birders, and golfers. Our cabin accommodates 2 adults. We like to consider our cabin as "basecamp" for all of your adventures while here in Maine...Our cabin is a comfortable place to "hang your hat" after a day outdoors. The cabin is very clean and simple and private, and allows you to feel the character of Maine. If you are looking for a fancy place with a lot of amenities, our cabin is probably NOT for you.
It is a perfect cabin for an active couple looking to explore the outdoors of Maine during the day, and return to a quiet cabin at night.
We encourage you to sit by the outdoor fire at night, and listen to the ocean hit the rocky coast off in the distance. We also recommend a walk to the harbor at sunrise to watch the working lobstermen and to view the beautiful sunrises. Acadia National Park (Schoodic Peninsula) is a short 10 minute drive from the cabin and provides breathtaking views of Cadillac Mtn. This is the quiet section of Acadia. Bar Harbor is a 50 min drive. All sections of Acadia are well-known for hiking, biking, kayaking, whale watching, or just enjoying a quiet picnic by the ocean. All of this is just minutes from the cabin. Or you can simply relax on the porch of the cabin and listen to birds while reading a favorite book. Life is simple in Corea by the sea, and we hope that you will come to visit us and truly have an enjoyable vacation.
The owner, Bea, born in Maine, appreciates her unique property and enjoys providing you with all of the local knowledge you need, and she will make sure that you are enjoying your stay. After all, this is her special homestead... she welcomes all happy people!

I'd stay here again
Great place to stay--away from the busyness of the main Park with comfortable accommodations, surrounded by beauty and quiet. We enjoyed the cabin, the gift shop across the street and Lunch on the Wharf! Cabin was just as described on the site.

This new cabin was very clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed. Overall, we were very pleased however there are a few exceptions that need work. The stairs going to the low ceiling bedroom, are narrow and we had to duck to avoid hitting our heads. The same in the loft bedroom. I'm 5' 11' which is average and I had to be mindful to stay low. The bed itself was very uncomfortable. The addition of a quality mattress would be an easy fix. Lastly, watch your knuckles when you close the front door. It'll only take one try to train you to use your left hand. Overall, the place was great but one good crack on the head leaves a lasting impression.

Great getaway
Great little cottage to stay in. We drove into Mt. Desert Island most days. One day we drove the 5 min to the Schoodic area which was great! Chase's Restaurant, as recommended by the host, was really good too!

Attractive home, lovely hostess
Nice feel inside with pine paneling and comfortable furniture. One caution might be the stairs to the loft for older folks. Good beds and bathroom. Helpful information inside the cabin for local activities and sights. Very quiet neighborhood and close to the Corea Harbor.
