About this property

Acadia SummerHill Log Cabin-charmingly unique, cozy and quiet, a true hidden gem

Our log cabin is located in a quaint coastal fishing village on the northern coast of Maine; a haven for photographers, hikers, cyclists, kayakers, birders, golfers, and explorers. It is often described as a "hidden gem".
Our cabin is unique and allows you to feel like you are truly away from your busy lifestyles. It accommodates 2 adults/ 1 child with a queen bed and double bed in the loft. We like to consider our cabin as "basecamp" for all of your adventures while here in Maine...the cabin is a comfortable place to "hang your hat" after a day spent outdoors. The cabin is very clean and simple and private, and allows you to feel the character of Maine.
It is a perfect cabin for an active couple looking to explore the outdoors of Maine during the day, and return to a quiet cabin at night.
We encourage you to sit by the outdoor fire at night, and listen to the ocean hit the rocky coast in the distance. We also recommend a walk to the harbor at sunrise to watch the working lobstermen and to view the beautiful sunrises. Acadia National Park (Schoodic Peninsula) is a short 10 minute drive from the cabin and provides breathtaking views of Cadillac Mtn. This is the quiet section of Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor is a 50 min drive. All sections of Acadia are well-known for hiking, biking, kayaking, whale watching, or just enjoying a quiet picnic by the ocean. All of this is just minutes from the cabin. Or you can simply relax on the porch of the cabin and listen to birds while reading a favorite book. Life is simple in Corea by the sea, and we hope that you will come to visit us and truly have an enjoyable vacation.
The owner, Bea, was born in Bar Harbor, and she appreciates her unique property and enjoys providing you with all of the local knowledge you need, and she will make sure that you are enjoying your stay. After all, this is her special homestead... she welcomes all happy people!

Really nice cabin in a quiet neighborhood

Kim has a great little get-a-way on one of Maine's beautiful peninsulas. This one happens to be very near the Schoodic part of Acadia National Park - Schoodic is the quiet part - at least so far. We chose her cabin due to the proximity to a number of wonderful natural refuges and preserves. In spite of less than ideal weather, we really enjoyed a number of short hikes that are very close by.The cabin had most of what we needed to be comfortable although the loft stairs and low loft ceiling took a bit of getting used to and care when moving around - but we knew that from earlier reviews.Kim was very responsive and caring offering to bring over a space heater on a particularly unseasonably cold night. We were able to enjoy the wonderful quiet on the deck on our last evening when the rain let up.

Perfect Main Cabin

We had a wonderful trip to Maine and really enjoyed the cozy, private, and well-appointed cabin. It was the perfect size for 2 adults and 1 child. It had everything you need and was a convenient location to Acadia. We enjoyed eating at the Pickled Wrinkle and Bunkers seafood. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great experience

The cottage was exactly as described. Cozy and quiet. Kim keeps it simple with everything you need. She is attentive without being intrusive. The cottage was close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia Park area but even closer to real life Maine.

I'd stay here again

Great place to stay--away from the busyness of the main Park with comfortable accommodations, surrounded by beauty and quiet. We enjoyed the cabin, the gift shop across the street and Lunch on the Wharf! Cabin was just as described on the site.

Cozy Cabin

Cabin is clean and as described. We particularly appreciated the comfortable living area since we did not have great weather. As noted, the loft stairs are narrow and require you to duck in a few places, but were not a problem for us. After an afternoon in Bar Harbor, we enjoyed the peace and quiet of this location.

Acadia escape

This cabin was away from the bustle of Bar Harbor, so be ready for a bit of extra driving. But the location was quiet and pretty. Just be careful going up to the loft, thise beams are low! Overall a very pleasant stay.

Beautiful, Quiet Location

This was the perfect spot for exploring coastal Maine! We had a wonderful time visiting different areas, and it was great to return here each day to enjoy the beauty and tranquility. We cooked lobsters twice, took a trip to Canada, and visited or viewed over a dozen lighthouses. We also indulged in delicious blueberry treats and picked our own blueberries. Having access to different streaming services was a nice touch, and the well-equipped kitchen made our stay even more comfortable. It was an unforgettable experience, and we truly enjoyed every moment.

Great getaway

Great little cottage to stay in. We drove into Mt. Desert Island most days. One day we drove the 5 min to the Schoodic area which was great! Chase's Restaurant, as recommended by the host, was really good too!

Clean and Cozy

We stayed here on a fall trip to Acadia. The cabin was very clean and cozy. The bedroom in the loft has a low stairway and ceiling, but my husband is 6’7” and he managed! It was nice to be away from the busier resort areas.

Attractive home, lovely hostess

Nice feel inside with pine paneling and comfortable furniture. One caution might be the stairs to the loft for older folks. Good beds and bathroom. Helpful information inside the cabin for local activities and sights. Very quiet neighborhood and close to the Corea Harbor.

Peaceful, Clean and Relaxing Cabin

Our family loved this charming cabin in Corea, ME. It was so serene, provided the opportunity to watch the sunrise from the patio and had a grill with outdoor seating where we spent each evening. The home is immaculately clean and welcoming, we appreciated having some games and books for our children. It is evident that the host takes pride in making the home a special place to visit and is thoughtful about attention to detail. We would definitely recommend staying at this cabin for a relaxing getaway.

Perfect for Acadia trip

We were delighted to find and stay in this cabin. It is exactly as advertised! We spent a lot of our time visiting Acadia so we didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin or in Corea (unfortunately) but the cabin was the perfect spot to come back to at the end of a long day. It was very quiet and comfortable. We also appreciated being away from the crowded areas of Acadia. The reservation process was easy and communicaton with the owner was excellent.

Great Maine trip without the crowds

Kim was wonderful all along the way thru booking the property and sending info on the process as well as offering suggestions during the stay. The house was super clean and cozy! Seemed smaller than photos at first but the cabin was perfect for a couple and had everything needed for a comfy stay. It’s a quiet location but others are nearby so you’re not fully alone. The loft has a low ceiling. My husband is 5’10” and could not stand up fully when in the loft which hurt his back a little. I however was perfectly fine at 5’3”! We loved the new fire pit on the deck and that you can see the fire from the window of the tv room also. We did not get to use the gas grill but it looked like a decent grill. The water has iron in it and you can see the tint in the toilet, shower, and if dishes soak with water. You can definitely smell the mineral while showering and on your skin and hair afterward, a mild discomfort. At night from the deck you can hear the ocean in the distance as well as clanging from a buoy which is quite relaxing. Some of the local restaurants were not open the hours listed online so I recommend calling ahead to check. They definitely close down early for the night so get all you need before about 6 or 7 pm. It is about 50-60 minutes from Acadia and Bar Harbor so plan on a daily drive to check out the sights but there are plenty of things you can check out in Corea and the surrounding area as well. Bar Harbor can be quite busy so it is nice to be able to get away from it all and re-energize for the next day! Overall an amazing stay with such beautiful scenery!!! And a super friendly host!!! Already planning our next trip!

Blissfully Peaceful Oasis

This cabin is accessible, yet feels wonderfully remote. Sit on the deck to partake of the therapeutic ocean breeze combined with the warblers whistling and occasional sounds of the harbor... heavenly! Local oysters, a secret low-tide pathway to an island, an art gallery across the street - for those looking for a low-key place to unwind, this is it! The Schoodic Peninsula in total is amazing, and Kim is wonderfully hospitable in word and deed!
