Lisa communicated well and was very kind and helpful when I asked questions before and during our stay. It was a nice quiet place to stay, and my children enjoyed watching the horses. However it was very bare bones in the kitchen. If you plan to do your own cooking, plan to bring everything you need other than salt and pepper. Over all it was a good stay. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We found it a calm, relaxing location with the cabin having all we needed! It was conveniently located to many attractions yet out of the way enough to not be crowded!
Beautiful location, cabin was very nice. We took our 12 year old grandson with and he love going for walks in the Black Hill forest everyday. The property is right on a trail through the forest
The cabin was in a great location, it was very clean and comfortable. Nice and quiet. The managers were very nice and easy to work with. Great communication
This cabin was perfect for our week in Custer. It's located less than 10 minutes out of town on a horse ranch. The property backs up to the National Forest and the access is just a few steps off the porch so the view was always beautiful. The cabin has plenty of space and is nicely decorated and stocked. The location was quiet and a nice place to unwind after being out all day exploring the area. We would definitely stay here again!
We took a 5 day vacation to the Black Hills from the Chicago area. We stayed at Hell Canyon Horse Camp and it was great. We couldn’t have had a better location to explore the Black Hills on our trip. The cabin was extremely clean and the area was quiet. Lisa the owner was absolutely fantastic to deal with. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Clean beautiful setting with lots of horses and dogs to watch on site. Freindly hard working owners. Not too far of a drive from everything you would want to see and do in the Black Hills.
The property is a working horse ranch, which is interesting to watch, even if you aren’t there because you ride a horse. The cabin was spotless, well furnished, and the beds were very comfortable. It’s outside of the city of Custer, South Dakota about 7 miles. Peaceful and quiet. Away from the insanity of the tourist towns but located close enough to see all of South Dakota attractions with just short drives. Would definitely recommend this!
Hells Canyon Horse Camp is a well maintained property, is conveniently located in relation to major Black Hills attractions, has beautiful surroundings and was clean and cozy. We loved having our coffee on the large porch every morning. Although we did not bring horses, it was fun seeing them every day. Although our overall experience was good, a few changes could have made it even better. The water pressure in the shower was very low, the cooking equipment was very minimal and the TV was very small.
Hell Canyon Horse Camp is a fantastic quiet and relaxing place to stay! Our duplex cabin nestled up to the National Forest which made it even mor serene. I would have given this a 5 star rating except for the lack of wi-fi connection for the television with limited options for channels to watch. Also, the television was rather small but if you don’t watch tv you will be fine or bring your own fire stick or other means to watch. Other than that, the place was clean, well-supplied and comfortable. Lisa was very accommodating and helpful. We would stay here again and I think that is the highest compliment I can give! Thank you Lisa.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was nice being just outside of the town but close enough to go get supplies. It had everything we needed

This cabin is NOT a single family dwelling.
We shared a bedroom wall with our “neighbors.” I could hear them late at night and early in the morning which disturbed my sleep. If I wanted that experience I would have gone to a hotel.
Great little place that was easy access to local attractions.
Enjoyed staying in the 202 cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed for the price point. Also was very close to several of the attractions in the area.
We were not your normal renter for a horse camp. We were just in a family vacation and needed a place to stay close to Custer State park. This was a great location.
