Lovely, private space- everything you need for relaxing vacation.

Nice deck, comfy bed, kitchen outfitted with all you need to eat in - but also a 2 minute walk to The Common Good - open 6 days a week with popovers, coffee and other simple breakfast items - all for a donation of you choosing. The hosts were wonderful - communication was great and the space was as described - we would love to return!

Great location.

Patti’s garden cottage is in a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of town. The space was quite sufficient for our stay, with separate living/kitchen and bedroom. Patti was a gracious host and the check-in was effortless. We would definitely return.

Lovely cottage in a lovely village

We enjoyed our week in Southwest Harbor, the "The Quiet Side" of Mount Desert Island. A short walk to several cafes and restaurants as well as close proximity to two Lobster Pounds. Our cottage was beautifully decorated and compact. We did very little cooking, but enjoyed breakfast and snacks indoors or on the little porch outside the room. Our hosts were very accessible and friendly.

Great Stay in SW Harbor

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Acadia by staying in one of Patti's villa's in Southwest Harbor. The villa was clean and perfect for us or any couple. Southwest Harbor isn't as crowded as Bar Harbor and more peaceful. Navigating and driving in and around Acadia and Mount Desert Island is very easy. About a 20 minute drive from our villa to downtown Bar Harbor. The park and area are beautiful; and hopefully somewhere we will return to in the future. Patti was great to answer any questions and quick to respond. Great stay.

30th Anniversary.

Room was great. quiet and cozy. Plenty of space. Had everything we needed. We had the best time. Food was close and taste great in the area. Not far from Acadia National Park. We biked the trails, hiked the north ridge of cadillac mnt and kayak on Long Pond. So much to do. Seen a few lighthouses too. Its a must to vacation here.

Nice place to stay, great location in Southwest Harbor

The apartment was tastefully decorated. It had a decent kitchen with pretty much everything we needed. We would suggest the host get some bigger mugs, and better silverware. Being able to hang out on the front "porch" area, or outside of the sliding door in the kitchen was nice. The only reason I didn't give a five star overall rating was that the king size bed was too soft and it sagged in the middle. The owners are quick to respond to requests.

Bed was comfortable. Owners left cookies for us upon check in, very yummy. The over all décor was dated. The television was in bedroom, not able to turn on when someone is sleeping in and you want coffee earlier. The toilet was very low, odd I thought. I would say overall stay was fine. It was about a 20 minute drive to Acadia National Park. South harbor area was less busy than Bar Harbor which was crazy packed. Glad we did stay at this area.

Mary, We are sorry we did not meet all of your expectations. The toilet is actually standard height, and the dated interior with antiques is very intentional for a garden cottage. We also have the television on a rolling cart so it can be moved if a guest prefers it to be in the sitting area. Lovely Stay!

We loved our stay at the Garden Terrace! We spent four nights here on a trip to visit Acadia NP. The entire property, from the grounds to our individual unit, were in top shape. The room was very clean and the bedroom and living room/kitchen were actually bigger than I expected. We enjoyed sitting on our patio looking into the garden, which is full of various plants. Patti was very easily accessible, although I only ever needed to call her to ask for some dish soap, which she very promptly brought to us. We also loved the town of Southwest Harbor (much more than touristy Bar Harbor)! We ate 3/4 dinners here — two at Beal’s Lobster Pier and one at Harbor and Hearth. We absolutely each of our meals and loved that we could walk to the restaurants. Definitely eat at these two establishments if you do book this property! We would definitely recommend this property to friends/family and would stay here again if we returned.

Beautiful Garden Apt. On Quiet Property

The gardens were beautiful and terrace access was great. The apartment was very comfortable and a short walk to downtown SW Harbor. Great location for drives to the rest of MDI too. The water view is beautiful from the cottage, but private property and not accessible. 1/4 mile walk down the street, you can access the causeway for your water view & walk. Nearby Butterfly Gardens and park were exquisite as was the museum just up the block.. A great deal for the price; my only disappointment was I couldn’t walk by the water at that location. Lots of ocean, causeway, ponds, tidewater views and walks nearby, but I thought I could walk to the water from the apartment. Landlady was very friendly but very conscience of her guest privacy. It is a quiet beautiful location with parking in the back. Check-in was relaxed with your names on your apartments and access to your key. I had a great time. This is an apartment for adults who want a quiet place & beautiful surroundings to unwind. I found everything I needed in the kitchen, but if you are a Gormet, you should bring an additional wok or pot to sauté & your own blender. Lots of wonderful restaurants and take-out places nearby if you don’t want to cook. I had a great time although my stay was too short. Next time, I hope to stay at least a month.

A Very Pleasant Stay in Southwest Harbor

Bliss at Cottage by the Sea

My husband and I enjoyed this cozy unit that was part of a B&B in Southwest Harbor, ME. The unit is not part of the main house, so we felt like we had more privacy than you might otherwise get at a B&B. This was also nice for other guests since I had to leave early each morning to attend my medical conference. The lodging is a very short walk from the downtown area so we didn’t have to drive anywhere to enjoy dining or shopping options. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in Maine. It was about a 30 minute drive from Bar Harbor, but my husband and I felt it was worth this drive because the area of Southwest Harbor is much less crowded during the busy summer months.

Cozy cottage on The Quietside

Although not officially a cottage, the apartment had the soft feel and comfort of one. Quiet setting and great location

Within walking distance of the village and some seafood docks the Inn is in a great location. The room has all you need and the porch/garden is a nice bonus. The hosts had some hiking tips and a few laughs as well.

Perfect location on the quiet side of Acadia Nat. Park

Within walking distance to downtown Southwest Harbor, very quiet and very comfortable VRBO. The Garden Suite had everything we needed and we really enjoyed our stay there. The location is perfect to explore all that Mt. Desert Island offers, staying in the quiet side of the park is delightful!

Perfect for 2 or 3.

Very clean and everything we needed. Comfortable king bed with nice linens. Full size frig, cooktop, microwave, coffee maker all good. The only sort of negative is the drive to Acadia about 10-15 miles. The delicious cookies when we arrived was a special treat.

Cindy, We are glad you had a great time. I am sorry we did not get a chance to talk more. The drive to the park loop road is 20 minutes as we say in our description but we are actually less than three miles from many of our favorite parts of Acadia. Echo Lake Beach is a mike away and Flying Mountain trails is walking distance. Seawall trails and picnic area is less than three miles. Acadia mountain trails, Beech mountain and five other mountains are within three miles. The island is only 11 Miles by 11 miles and the park takes up most of the island, so it is hard to be 15 miles from anything . We try to supply our quests with this info in our room binders. I hope you were able to experiencesome of the park stout doorstep
