Nestled in the woods on the shore of Lake Superior, this home provides everything the North Shore has to offer. The house features sweeping lake views from all three bedrooms, a creek and bridge, two private pebble beeches, kayaks, and beautiful trees. Located in Lutsen, Minnesota only 15 minutes from Grand Marais. The house has heated floors, North woods art from local artists, comfortable beds, and unique architectural features. Perfect escape for weekend away or special occasion.
The house has two queen beds, two twin beds, and one sleeper sofa, as well as two bathrooms- one with a walk-in shower and one with a tub shower. The first floor has a large screen porch, and the second floor has an open air porch with a view of the lake as well as an deck. We also have a small sauna that is operable most months out the year. There is ramp access to the main floor of the home. The house also has two televisions, a record player, board games, and a telescope. There is a fire pit by the lake, and trails to explore as well. We have berry patches, rhubarb, lupine and other wildflowers throughout the property. We are also lucky enough to have one of the only pebble beaches on this part of Lake Superior. At night, you can hear the waves as well as the small creek that runs through the property.

This property is amazing! The hosts have appointed it well and thought of so many details that make it a wonderful retreat. In addition to all the comforts, the surroundings and view of Lake Superior are unparalleled. The information provided about checkin and things to do near Lutsen made arrival easy and our trip enjoyable!
The house was great! We love the beach/view of Lake Superior. Such a great location! Always have a great time looking for sea glass and agates! Also enjoy stopping at our favorite restaurants!
From start to finish, the hosts were so kind and welcoming and the cabin was well-appointed with all the little things a person might forget. Beautiful setting with lots of hiking opportunities nearby.
We had a wonderful time! The property is on a creek that leads to the lake and a private beach. Ann & Cheryl were very responsive and proactive! They sent us their favorite places before we even left for our trip so we could plan on stopping at a few. The house felt like coming to a best friend’s house. It was very comfortable and beautiful. They have everything you need - seats to sit on the rocks, marshmallow roasters, and everything in between. Will be staying again!
We stayed here for our anniversary. The location was perfect! Very peaceful and quiet. There is a mini grocery store just down the road if you need anything. Close to lots of hiking trails, and the North Shore winery is only a mile or 2 up the road . It was a perfect North Shore weekend!
Our family enjoyed the cottage so much! It was breathtaking waking up to Lake Superior and the sunset all weekend. The hosts were very informational, responsive, and kind. Would love to stay again in the future!
Beautiful cabin with incredible floor to ceiling views of the lake. The kitchen and baths were well appointed. The property has a lovely beach and easy access to hiking, Lutsen and Grand Marais. Excellent communication from the hosts that made us feel very welcome.
We had a wonderful stay! The home is absolutely stunning and comfortable, with Lakeviews from essentially every room. Communication for check-in, things to explore locally were outstanding. Location to Lutsen Mountain and skiing could not have been better and the fresh snow made the shoreline and parks even more magical. Highly recommend as a special retreat to relax and enjoy the North Shore.
Five big stars! Amazing property on the shore of Lake Superior beautifully designed cottage with a view of Lake Superior that is breathtaking.
Our hosts were equally amazing and welcoming which made our stay that much better. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay right on Lake Superior on the north shore.
We enjoyed every square inch of this property, inside and out. We have never experienced a VRBO quite like this one.It was absolutely perfect for our family of 4 and our dog. We were in awe of the architecture and of the views out the incredible windows. It was also the perfect location for our ski trip. So close the resort. We can't say enough good things about our stay. We look forward to staying again in the future.
We had a group of 8 (plus 2 dogs) and this home couldn’t have been better. Spectacular views of the lake, very thoughtfully laid-out floor plan, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and linens, and awesome shoreline...maybe the best shoreline on the lake! Two great pebble beaches and two cliffy areas fun to explore. Really nice large yard as a bonus. Another thing that sets this place apart from others is how hospitable Ann is—very responsive, kind, and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
What an amazing getaway. We spent three nights listening to the waves, gazing at the stars, enjoying each other's company in the cozy and attractive house on Lake Superior. Even in the Minnesota winter, the radiant heating kept us as warm as we wanted. The location was superb, between Lutsen and Grand Marais, with a coffee shop and grocery/convenience store just a couple of minutes up the road. If and when I do come back to this area, this will be the place I will look to first.
This home is downright magical. Between the private stream, acres of land, and impressive house it doesn’t get any better for a Vrbo. We had an issue with an error message on the stove and the owners immediately addressed it and fixed it. We will be back!
Stunningly beautiful home! The perfect place to stay for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay with our family. The host was great with communication and left us a lovely welcome package. When we got back home we realized our youngest son had forgotten his backpack with his Chromebook. We contacted the host and she found it on the shore and sent it to us...what a step above and beyond. I highly recommend a stay here. I know we will visit again.
We decided to have an Easter gathering with family on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We all love the Shore! We had an excellent time. From the beginning to the end, the communication regarding the property was outstanding, friendly and inviting. We arrived and we were blown away by the home, the property, the views, the shore, the space, the design, and the location. The home is equipped with everything you could need or want.Close to Grand Marais, hiking trails, beaches, agate hunting, fun shops, biking, all close by.My husband Ken reports he slept better than he has in a long time.Best of all, our granddog Yogi was welcomed. There is no place better to visit than this place on the North Shore. We will return!
Fabulous weekend at a special and unique property!
We had an amazing stay at this property and the owners could not have been more lovely and accommodating! You can tell it's a family home filled with love that they enjoy sharing with others who stay there. The kitchen is open to the living area and giant windows looking out at a beautiful view. The lakeside location is truly special with the pebble beach and rocky cliffs. The only drawback was the 3rd bedroom isn't a true room with a door--it's part of the lofted second floor and if you have young kids who go to bed early, they would be able to hear the main parts of the house. Luckily, there's an adorable children's nook upstairs with a door that our 4 year old was happy to sleep in, so that was dark and quiet with his white noise machine (it's a hallway with a little room attached, not a closet!). The downstairs bedroom also has an office alcove off of it which was a good place to put a pack and play for our 1 year old. Everything turned out great, but wanted to mention as an FYI for anyone with young kiddos! Would very highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a true Lutsen/Grand Marais experience!
We had a great experience with our family. Our kids loved exploring the property and skipping rocks along the shoreline. This location is like no other. We loved watching and hearing the wind and waves blow in from the huge windows overlooking the lake. The house felt to homey and relaxing, different than the typical generic rental feeling. Ann was a great communicator both before and during our stay. We will be back!
Loved the location. The property owners kept in great contact prior to arriving and checked in us during our stay. The shore line is spectacular. Reminded us of the coast of Maine. Felt more like a home than a “rental”. Thanks again. Highly recommended.
I first stayed in this lovely house in 2017 for a girls weekend trip to Lusten. My husband and I were able to return just the two of us for a spontaneous mini-moon after our wedding and were so thrilled with everything. Thank you to Ann and Cheryl for being so sweet and welcoming to us! We will absolutely return.
