About this property
Oceanfront Maine Acadia Cottage
Tidal Ledge has a beautiful and secluded contemporary Atlantic seacoast design that blends perfectly into the Maine landscape. It’s exceptional location offers the quintessential Maine experience.
The main living area boasts floor to ceiling glass windows offering 180 degree views of the ocean. This home is well appointed with everything you expect to find in your own home to include a fully stocked kitchen, luxurious turkish bath towels, and comfortable high thread count sheets. For your convenience a washer and dryer are also available in the home.
The layout makes this house easy to move around with only one floor to include two spacious bedrooms each with a queen size bed, and one spacious bathroom. The house has a large 50 inch flat screen television with full cable and Roku packages, and the wifi maintains a strong signal. For cool nights a beautiful gas log fireplace warms the house. Note: Due to the proximity to the ocean and high decks, Tidal
Ledge is only suited for adults with children aged 16 or older.
Grab your chairs or blanket to walk over to the Frenchman Bay Conservancy sponsored Summer Monday evening concerts that make for a fun evening. These fun concerts are located within walking distance from the house, or you can take in the concert from the comfort of the large back deck.
Tidal Ledge sits next to a nature preserve that highlights some of the most exceptional viewings of Maine wildlife. It is not unusual to frequently see bald eagles, harbor seals and a wide cross section of bird species flying about, all seen from the privacy of the back lawn. At night, sit by the Oceanside fire pit taking in views of the Milky Way. Take a stroll in the morning down to the shoreline with a cup of coffee, and in July and August pick wild blueberries on property for your breakfast pancakes.
If your looking for a nice dinner out, look no further than the 4 star restaurants available in the area. Chippers, Ironbound, and Crocker House Country Inn are all within a short drive away. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are a 20 minute drive, and for shopping essentials Ellsworth is the largest town in Hancock county and is a 15 minute drive away. Hancock Point is located a short distance away. Visit Hancock’s 130 year old library, and take a stroll around the point enjoying views across Frenchman’s Bay to Bar Harbor.

About the host
Hosted by Tracey Long

My family is originally from the Boston area and have been vacationing in Maine for 25 years. We moved to the Southeast (Florida and then Georgia) and in 2016 decided to begin looking for a second home in Maine. We love the Downeast of Maine for its raw and rugged landscape and wildlife.
We spend a good bit of time with our family at the home, but in times we aren’t in Maine we have decided to open our cottage for others to experience what we love so much.

Why they chose this property
Our home sits on a nature preserve that is entirely unique to Maine and the area. There are only six reversing falls in Maine, and our home sits in full view of one of the largest in Maine.
The reversing falls must be experienced to appreciate, but there is abundant wildlife that use the falls as their feeding ground. With a low tide and full moon the waters in back of the house turn into class 3 and 4 rapids. It is quite the experience. There is an Eagles nest nearby and they are frequent visitors to the back lawn waiting to spot a fish in the water. The Harbor Seals in the Summer months will frequent up close to the shoreline.
There are fox, porcupine, deer, black bear, and bobcat in the area that frequent us.

What makes this property unique
The most unique aspect of our home are all the comforts of the cabin and the pure ruggedness of the Maine coast which lies just outside.
